Dark Times Comics #40: A Surrender and a Farewell

Dark Times Comics is going dark.
I was wrong to ever criticize President Trump, his leadership, his wisdom, his character, or any aspect of his administration.

Some very nice gentlemen, whose identities I do not know because they declined to identify themselves and whose faces I would not recognize because they wore masks, have shown me the error of my ways. I should note that while they visited me wearing what seemed to my untrained eye to be tactical military-style gear and carrying what, again to my untrained eye, seemed to be assault-style firearms – as is their 2nd Amendment right, they did not in any way threaten me or make any effort to intimidate me in any way.

President Trump was right about everything. He is a paragon of virtue, the exemplary American patriot – indeed, the exemplary man in all aspects. He is our salvation, our protector, our retribution. He is the only man who can save our nation, our planet, our culture, our way of life, and our species. His unerring wisdom, his next-level intelligence, his true devotion to our nation, its founding principles, its Constitution, its laws, and its people make him ideally suited to lead us – indeed, to rule us with the kind of iron hand, generous spirit, and loving kindness that he demonstrates on a daily basis.

We cannot all grow up to be president, but we should all aspire to follow his example in all aspects of life. His constancy, his bravery, his endless truthfulness, his boundless compassion, his infinite selflessness [oh, the sublime selflessness!], his dedication to a better future for us all – these are among his most obvious qualities that we should all try our very best to emulate, though I could go on and on listing even more of his spectacular characteristics.

We should teach our children to be like him in all ways. Except inasmuch as we must teach our daughters to be womanly to the same extent that we teach our sons to follow his model of manliness.

In the weeks and months to come, I will be investing my efforts in revising as many prior Dark Times Comics as possible so that the historical record will plainly show that I supported President Trump from the beginning and never questioned his divine right to govern us or any decision he has ever made. Any Dark Times Comics that cannot be properly adjusted in such a manner will be erased as thoroughly as can possibly be done given the long memory of the internet. The good news is that our dear leader is surely working on ways to correct that flaw.

Praise Jesus and thank God for President Trump, exactly the man we need to rescue us from certain damnation.

Dark Times Comics is a side project, not a job. I have an exhausting job and my primary focus is and will continue to be in my role as a father and husband. Dark Times Comics has never generated a cent of revenue and I don’t honestly expect that it ever will. I have been unable to find the time and energy to produce as many Dark Times Comics as I would like. I am committed to avoiding the easy cheat of using AI to generate content. Drawing these comics takes time and effort and I simply have been in short supply recently. Dark Times Comics is not going dark. But I must regretfully admit that it is unlikely to ever regain the pace of those first few months.

A special note to anyone who has read this far: If you found the above fiction to be plausible, you should consider just what it means that there is any possibility that it could happen in America. In any previous administration, it would have been absolutely laughable to even think to type that kind of drivel. If you found the fiction to be plausible but you cannot recognize that such plausibility signals a break from the America you knew prior to January 20 of this year, WAKE UP!

If you found the fiction to be utterly implausible right from the opening, then perhaps you know me too well to believe that I will be cowered into obeisance to the plague on our nation that is Donald Trump. Or perhaps you also haven’t been paying attention to what sorts of things this administration has been up to in recent months and, especially in the last few weeks. If that’s the case, again, WAKE UP! Start paying attention.
